Running a hotel on registers and Excel sheets leads to double bookings, forgotten dues and no clear picture of occupancy. A good hotel management software replaces all of that with one live system. Here is what to check before you buy.
1. Live room board
You should see every room at a glance - vacant, occupied, reserved, dirty or under cleaning - filtered by property and floor. This is the front desk's main screen.
2. Reservation with availability check
The system must stop you from selling a room twice. Look for date-range availability, advance payment, and a printable reservation slip.
3. Check-in, guest folio and check-out
Every charge - room rent, restaurant, extra bed, laundry - should sit on one running guest folio. At check-out the guest pays once, with cash, card or mobile banking, and receives a clean receipt.
4. Housekeeping status
When a guest checks out the room should turn Dirty automatically, then Cleaning and Ready. This removes the shouting between reception and housekeeping.
5. Night audit
A daily close that posts room revenue and locks the day keeps accounts matching the front desk. Read more in our night audit checklist.
6. Reports owners actually use
Occupancy, daily collection, due list, and reservation reports by date and floor tell you how the hotel is really performing.
7. Restaurant inside the hotel?
If you also run a restaurant, choose a system that supports charge to room so you do not need two separate products.
8. Local support
Bangla support, local payment methods and a vendor reachable by phone matter more than a long feature list.
HisabPlus Hotel covers all of the above and is available with a free demo.
